Designers find their inspiration from a multitude of places including nature, weather, architecture, places, trends and cultures.

 

ACTIVITY ONE:

Watch the first YouTube video on the right and listen to contemporary designers Bec & Bridge explain what inspired their SS 2015/2016 collection. Then watch the second video and observe and analyse how their sources of inspiration translated into their designs.

ACTIVITY TWO: 

Imagine your are the assistant designer at Bec & Bridge and the SS 2015/2016 collection has not been designed yet. You are given the design brief of '70s Moroccan inspired' by Bec & Bridge, and are then asked to design a mood board as a starting point for the collection. 

The mood board may include digital fabric and colour swatches and inspiring pictures, phrases and sketches that are relevant to the design brief.

Create the mood board using Polyvore and then post the link to the class Facebook page.
